Texa TPS TPMS Tool
TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)
TPMS Systems are becoming commonplace and are now mandatory for cars from 2014. Motorcycles are now also following this trend, with systems appearing on several brands.
With Direct TPMS, tyre pressures are monitored by sensors fitted to the valves. Each sensor can measure tyre pressure, temperature and movement. The sensors are powered by a small lithium battery and communicate with the control unit over a radio link. Each sensor has a unique identifier code and is coded to the vehicle’s ECUs. Sensor batteries are not replaceable, meaning that a complete sensor must be changed in the event of battery failure.
Texa TPS - The Solution for TPMS
TPS (Tyre Pressure Service) is TEXA’s handheld tool for TPMS service operations for both motorcycles and cars.
The TPS tool can communicate with the valve sensors on each wheel. Placing the tool near the sensors allows you to activate and check them even if they are in stand-by mode at the time. The tool’s LCD display shows pressure, temperature and battery charge level (where available), as well as the relevant identification codes and all other diagnostic information provided by the vehicle manufacturer.
TPS lets you check the condition of sensors and replace them if necessary. If a sensor is replaced by a universal re-programmable spare part, the TPS tool can program the new sensor to assign it the same identification code as the old one and link it to the receiver or vehicle control unit. The procedures are made simple by an intuitive menu that guides you step by step through all options.
In addition to serving as a standalone tool, the TPS can be used with the free "TPMS Repair" software app which can be installed on a PC or Texa handheld tool.
The TPS can communicate via its integrated Bluetooth module. Hence a PC, AXONE 4 or AXONE 4 Mini interface can serve as a display unit to provide greater monitor resolution.
