The Texa TwinProbe is a combined oscilloscope and signal generator designed for use with vehicles. Suitable for use with both analogue and digital signals it is a complete solution for conventional diagnostic testing. It is equally effective on bikes, scooters, quads, boats and jet skis in addition to cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, buses and coaches, special vehicles and agricultural vehicles.

The TwinProbe features wireless connectivity and includes an oscilloscope, a signal generator and an ammeter.

Oscilloscope - Two independent analogue channels, with an input range of up to ± 200V, equipped with SIV function for the correct interpretation of the signal plots.

Signal Generator - To simulate pulses generated by sensors and reproduce the commands generated by control units.

Ammeter - This function can be accomplished through oscilloscope function using the optional BICOR inductive clamp.

The TwinProbe works with all TEXA display units and with Windows PCs wirelessly using Bluetooth technology. You can therefore move freely around the vehicle and within the workshop.

The TwinProbe, like all TEXA instruments, uses the Texa IDC software. For those without IDC software, MSS (Measurement System Software) is included for the TwinProbe, which enables the oscilloscope and signal generator functions in manual mode.

Oscilloscope tests carried out with the TwinProbe guarantee precise measurement but what the mechanic most needs is an efficient system to help correctly interpret the graphs processed by the instrument. In order to know if the measured signal is correct, one needs reference data to compare to. This is why TEXA developed a feature that guides the mechanic throughout the test - known as SIV (Signal Information Viewing). With SIV the TwinProbe can display signals from specific sensors or actuators and compare that with data for that type of component from the internal database. This mode can be used simply and quickly, starting from the bike's wiring diagram or the list of components contained in IDC5.

With the PWM signal generator, susbstitution tests can be carried out on components and actuators like pressure switches or speedometer sensors etc. In this way, it is possible to assess whether any anomaly is due to an electronic malfunction or mechanical breakage. By using the TwinProbe in combination with the IDC software, adjustments can be made and the effects observed by comparing them with the parameters proposed by the self-diagnosis.
